ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• Accurately enters processes and reconciles patient transactions via Athena and Medicare DDE (Direct Data Entry) while demonstrating the ability to recognize discrepancies
• Prepare reports out of Athena for Medicare and DDE as directed by the Business Office Manager
• Provides technical assistance to Business Office Manager
• Responds to management and team members requests in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner
• Proactively communicates with team member and management regarding open items, problems or other significant issues
• Provides technical and training guidance to support team members
• Further assists in developing competency of Billing Specialists according to applicable guidelines/regulations and will assist with training for current EMR for current services provided within Melissa Memorial
• Identifies and suggests process improvements to enhance client service and increase efficiency
• Assists in training and supervising of others
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Continuous learning in both personal and professional development.
• Consistent review, comprehension and reply of company email and related correspondence.

QUALIFICATIONS:

        MINIMUM:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Five+ years of job-related experience
• Specialized certifications in billing
• Proficient in DDE, payer portals, clearing house and Athena EMR

MELISSA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL:

Melissa Memorial Hospital is a 15-bed critical access hospital, located in Holyoke, Colorado. While being “rural” we are equipped for any situation. It is a model rural hospital with 1 operating room, surgical procedure room, 4 bay emergency room, and radiology including 64-slice CT scanner and mammography, MRI, ECHO, and Nuclear Medicine, along with other ancillary services. The hospital is co-located with a family practice clinic and retail pharmacy services. Other services include chemotherapy, general & orthopedic surgery, podiatry, cardiology, orthopedic surgery, progressive rehab services, and wound care. MMH operates a full-time EMS service and maintains a 24/7 AirLife Helicopter base.
